What is "Chick 4a Cause”…
Why do I do these Chick paintings and donate the proceeds?Answer-I am kicking Cancer’s butt! I am 3 1/2 years out from Chemo and radiation to treat invasive breast cancer. Throughout my diagnosis and treatments, I made the choice to stay positive, full of Hope, and remain faithful. I believe we all have choices how we go through hard times, as most of us do at some point in our life.
During my treatments, I hit many challenging obstacles while my body decided to rebel against the drugs. I experienced a close to 4th degree burn from chemo infiltration, shingles popped up right at my radiation area and most challenging, I got very sick with Clostridium Difficile. The C. Diff, as it is called, landed me straight in ICU and the hospital for 2 weeks. During these two weeks, the doctors were not sure my body was going to be able to survive the C. Diff. However, I KNEW I was going to survive and fought with the same positive mentality. I truly believe I still have a lot of ‘work’ to do here in the world including bringing joy to other people going through hard times; inspiring them to have both “Joy and Hope. My Paintings are one of the ways I give back to the world fighting cancer. They are meant to be whimsical, funny and bring a smile in the ‘coop’ where they will land.
